Well-versed in arthroplasty, Dr Mzayiya is a humble doctor, dedicated to his work. Once Dr Nkosiphendule Lindani Mzayiya completed his medical degree at Walter Sisulu University in 2005, he went on to complete his internship year at the Bloemfontein Hospital complex and community service year at Cofimvaba Hospital. He remained at this same hospital for the next year as Principal Medical Officer of the ARV Clinic. In 2009, Dr Mzayiya was appointed Medical Officer in Orthopaedics at Frontier Hospital in Queenstown before moving to Bedford Orthopaedic Hospital. He has been in the field of orthopaedics for 10 years.

He further enrolled at the College of Medicine South Africa and Sefako Makgatho University from 2010 to 2014 which he started with joint replacement on his final year of specialisation. Dr Mzayiya has been working in the Arthroplasty Unit - Sefako Makgatho University since and completed a fellowship in 2015 with Smith and Nephew. As a junior consultant for the last 5 years, and having worked in private practice since 2014, he has gained immense knowledge and experience in joint replacement surgery, particularly knee and hip arthroplasty and unicompartmental replacement and recently robotics including revision of both the knee and hip replacement – with special emphasis in early and enhanced recovery programs.

With the advent 4th industrial revolution – the future of knee and hip replacement will be done using robotics, which he is equipped to do.
